FOUNDER

CASSIDY ZAGWYN

At Iron Standard Fitness, we are passionate about helping our clients achieve their fitness goals. Our founder, Cassidy Zagwyn, is dedicated to providing personalized training and programs to all our clients. She believes in the power of community and the effects it has on fitness, health, and happiness.

Cassidy's enthusiasm for movement has always been prevalent, and encouraged by her brave parents who allowed her to participate in up to three sports in a season as a child. Her first year of college was at Plattsburgh State University, where she played for the Women's Basketball team, as well as Track and Field.

​

Cassidy earned her B.S. in Exercise Science at Ave Maria University while playing for the Women's Basketball team. She now hold's her personal training certification with the American College of Sports Medicine. Towards the end of her collegiate career, Cassidy was diagnosed with a hypermobility disorder, which explained her frequent injuries, chronic pain, and more. This heightened her curiosity for biomechanics and muscle health, leading her to focus on improving the joint health and longevity of her clients.

Cassidy enjoys running and hiking with her husband and their dog. When the days get hot, they love to be out on the water paddle boarding. Although Cassidy isn't the biggest fan of the colder months, her husky mix, Luna, keeps her going and enjoys winter marathon training.

Personal Trainer

BEN MASSA

Ben has been passionate about staying active since his early years as a runner. While in college, he pursued a degree in Exercise Science and developed a strong interest in weight training. After graduating, he discovered a love for rock climbing, further broadening his fitness journey.

​

During his time in college, Ben gained valuable hands-on experience through internships and collaborations with professionals in physical therapy, biomechanical engineering, and sports performance. These experiences solidified his passion for helping others, leading him to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). From 2019 to 2023, Ben worked at a performance training facility, where he guided clients of all ages and abilities improve performance, manage injuries, and enhance overall health.

​

Since 2018, Ben has also been a key team member at Fleet Feet,  a running specialty store. In this role, he has helped countless runners find solutions for their running needs. Ben continuously seeks to expand his expertise in running biomechanics, injury prevention, and footwear technology to provide personalized support and empower individuals to achieve their fitness and health goals.

SMALL GROUP TRAINER

AMANDA

Amanda loves to help others transform through fitness. She loves working with beginners and those who have failed in the past because she was once a beginner too!

​

Her favorite part is boosting up the self confidence of our members and seeing their strength and progress through each fitness journey.

​

In her spare time, she loves spending time with her family and enjoying outdoor activities. During the cold months, you’ll find her hibernating.
