Why ISF? Why Own a Gym?

Iron Standard Fitness was not the plan. There was no plan, but a gym wasn't it. Being a personal trainer wasn't it.
Growing up as an athlete, exercise became my safe space. It's where I made friends, where I improved my character and my health, where I spent most of my free time.
I was a collegiate athlete while I was studying for my bachelor's in Exercise Science. When I graduated, I quickly became a coach at my local high school.
I have spent more than 20 years surrounding myself with people who want to be better.
Run faster
Score more
Get stronger
Be a better teammate
Be a better coach
Be a better person
I have spent more than 20 years learning this mindset from the people around me.
After graduating college I did what I always did in the summer - find a job at a gym and spend as much time outside as possible.
Working at one gym turned into finding a new gym, which turned into helping someone else start their own gym, which turned into finding yet again... another gym. I was a gym gypsy- but I was creating important relationships and I was helping.
Personal training was SUCH a hobby. Just a fun thing that I did. The hours let me coach high school basketball in the winter and play outside all summer. I never made any money, but I had the hours I wanted and I had SO much fun.
It started getting real when I was getting feedback that sounded like:
"I held both of my grandchildren at the same time, for the first time, all thanks to you"
"I feel like I have my life back now that I'm not in constant pain all the time."
Wait.
This is more than just fun.
This MEANS something. With every new client, I could feel the momentum growing.
I was really helping people.
I finally registered my LLC on January 1st, 2022
We moved to 65 Caron Street (my very own gym) in July of 2023
I started Iron Standard Fitness because this is what I know. I know how to be a teammate, a coach, an athlete.
I want to be surrounded by people on a mission.
You need to lose 80lbs? Perfect. I want it for you just as much as you want it.
You need to be able to get on the floor to play with your grandbaby? Cool. I'm getting on the floor with you.
We are in this together.
My goal is to create an environment where every member is shoulder to shoulder with someone determined. Our trainers want success for our members, but success for themselves as well. I want everyone under our roof to be in forward motion towards the person they are meant to be. The person they will make themselves become.
Not feeling 100% motivated today? Just show up. We can take it from there.
